Ohio’s hemp industry is under attack. 

While HB 198 creates common-sense regulations for hemp-derived products, 

opposing bills like HB 160/SB 86 seek to:

• Ban popular cannabinoids (delta-8, delta-10, HHC) outright, destroying thousands of small businesses.
• Create a monopoly for medical marijuana licensees, shutting out independent retailers and farmers.
• Ignore safety standards, pushing consumers toward unregulated markets.

HB 198 offers a better solution:
✅ Testing & Labeling: Mandates lab checks for contaminants (Sec. 930.08).
✅ Age 21+ Sales: Stops underage access without criminalizing adults (Sec. 930.13).
✅ Small Biz Protections: Caps fees at $100 per store and allows craft producers to sell direct.  (Sec. 930.05-06).
